.Net/COM Projects

Cameron Software has being doing enterprise web and windows .Net projects since the first release of Microsoft's .Net. These projects have been based in both C# and VB.Net using WinForms and WebForms based on SQL Server, Oracle and MS Access. Prior to .Net Cameron Software has delivered a number of small and large projects using Microsoft's older technologies: DCOM, COM, VisualBasic, C++ and C.

Here are a few of the projects Cameron Software has delivered:

 

Mainframe Migration to .Net (2003)

As the Lead Architect on this project, Don Cameron was responsible for the architecture, research, lead design and development for process, products and services for automated migration of mainframe applications to the .Net WIntel platform.

C#, SQL Server, WinForms and WebForms.

 

.Net Web Online Loans Application (2002)

Don Cameron was the technical lead/application architect on this project which is a web-based enterprise application for online loans processing for the end user. This system features a meta-based rules system for implementation of the many policies of loan administration.

Elections System (2000)

Cameron Software was the senior designer/developer on a large VB/MTS/DCOM project with a large multi-developer project team for the BC Government’s Electoral Information System. As the designer and developer of the server layer, Don Cameron developed a fully object oriented system which exploits the latest in technology from Microsoft. As Technical Lead Don Cameron was responsible for development standards, architecture design and team mentoring.

Work Order Tracking System (2000)

Development of work order tracking system for a custom orthotic laboratory. This system greatly improved their cost-efficiency and tracking of all their work orders.

Appeals System (1999)

Analysis and re-design of an Appeals Tracking System. Multi-user client/server system written in C++ with Oracle backend.

Enterprise Client/Server Messaging System (1999)

CHIPS is the BC government’s payroll and human resource system based on the PeopleSoft client/server product. Don Cameron developed two products for this project:

  1. A broadcast messaging application to communicate and distribute software to the 1200 client/server workstations from a central server.
  2. An integrated printing utility which features direct page access, searching and multipage printing on Windows based printers.

As the senior technical analyst, Don was also responsible to manage the network installation and implementation of the client/server application for over 1200 workstations throughout the BC government.
